Artist's Bio

Anna Velkoff Freeman is based in Virginia Beach and works with clay and mixed media to create sculptures, pots and drawings. Her work is exhibited throughout the country in national juried exhibitions and is featured in several books, including Ceramics Today, 500 Ceramic Sculptures, Lark Studio Series: Ceramic Sculptures, and Image Transfer on Clay.

Anna earned her B.F.A. from Alfred University in Alfred NY, where she concentrated in ceramics and printmaking and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She earned her M.F.A. through Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University’s joint program in Visual Studies. Anna has taught ceramics over the past fourteen years, including five years of full-time college-level teaching.
